Elderly care products are a great way to enhance the lives of older people, particularly those that live in their own home in order to retain some form of independence.

Ageing is a natural and inevitable part of life, but elderly care is about making life a comfortable as possible for older people. There is a range of elderly care products that can be used to make a positive contribution to the quality of life and care had by pensioners, below is some of the best products.

Waterproof bedding protects a bed from urine and other spillages such as water, drinks and other fluids. Generally made from a polyester based fabric that is breathable and vapour permeable, waterproof bedding is simple to care for. Most can be cleaned by simply wiping them dry and the coating on one side of the fabric creates a smooth surface which prevents soiling of any kind from penetrating the material.

A multi-functional denture cleaner is another fantastic elderly care product. The product can be used to clean dentures, mouth guards, toothbrushes and bleaching trays. It uses a sterilising UV light alongside an anti-bacterial cleaner. The machine vibrates cleaning, sterilising and deodorising suitable products such as dentures and other dental items.

Bedside fall out mats is one elderly support product, all elderly people should own. The item helps to prevent injuries caused by someone accidentally falling from their bed. Most importantly the item can also be used to stop a person hurting themselves who deliberately climb over bed rails. When placed on the floor, the mats provide a soft yet force attenuating surface which absorbs the full impact of a person's fall.

Adult bibs are a re-usable item often needed by those care facilities that cater for people's more personal needs. They are available with or without crumb catchers, which are a great way of preventing food from falling onto a person's lap- particularly when hot. Most on the market can be machine washed and tumble dried and they don't require ironing.
